Chapter 4
Nightmares
"Did I hear what I think I heard?" I asked mom. My mom heaved out a big sigh,"Sweetie, you did. And as much as I want to deny that you heard that, I can't. Because you met a witch who hasn't been able to tell right from wrong yet." "Mary!!! Come down here and serve me!" yelled Hairy. She rolled her eyes. "I got to go." As she left I thought Why do you put up with that creep? She would tell me to mind my manners and go get some broccoli if she heard me say that aloud. I grabbed my favorite book, Percy Jackson & The Olympians- The Last Olympian. That book always made me feel better. It reminded me that anybody with a goal can be a hero. Also Percy reminds me a lot of myself. While I was reading chapter One I noticed that Luke is a lot like Rick, C.J. was like Grover, and Casey was like Annebeth. And.. I was Percy. I thought That's impossible. Just because you have a connection to the book doesn't mean that you're going to have the same story. I wasn't sure if I believed that. I mean, you can never be too cautious. I was going to be careful around Rick from now on. A little voice in my head said But he's so nice. How could you ever accuse him like that? That's just plain mean. I started getting in an argument with that area in my mind. It was like that until I had to go down for dinner. I found the dining room after 5 minutes. It had a gigantic crystal chandelier in the middle of the room. Under the chandelier was the table that was big in length. What in the world? It's not like we're going to have this many people in the dining room that often. I picked a random seat. As I sat in the seat I suddenly felt like a king. The seat was red, and cushioned my behind. My mother was really jumpy while we waited for our food. When the waiter came in he bent like he was bowing then when he was facing the ground he put the tray in the middle of the table. He pulled the lid off the tray. At first it looked really good. But we'd have to use the old tongue tester. I grabbed my fork and stabbed the thing, took a big chunk then ate it. It was so sweet and juicy. "This tastes really good. What is it?" I said chewing on the thick meat. "It's pig meat, sir," the waiter said. I coughed and spit. Nothing came out of that spit I did. I ran looking for the bathroom. I could already feel the pig coming back up. I once had a pig that got slaughtered. I promised myself I would never eat pig again. Plus the eyes were still in the meat. Which means the pig saw us eating him. I found the bathroom, closed the door, locked it, then went to the toilet. There was a knock at the door."Sweetie? You alright in there?" Mom asked. I didn't give a straight answer, my answer was more like BLAH!! After that my mom was usually in a 1 mile radius of me. I walked to the upstairs bathroom to brush my teeth. The bathroom was as big as my old room. The bath tub was also a hot tub, the Shower was separated from the tub. And on the other side was another door that lead to the toilet! I looked in the mirror to see a girl's definition of cute. I had brown short hair. I was about 5 feet tall. I had bluish green eyes. After a few minutes of examining me, I decided to brush my teeth. After I was done I went out the door then made my bed. I'm the kind of person who likes to make my bed right before bed. When I was about to get in bed my mother came over to me. Her eyes were red from crying. "I want you to know I love you. And I'm sorry I can't come to camp with you. If I did the dragon would burn me to ashes," she sniffled. She sounded as though we would never see each other. "Wait... what's happening? You act like you won't see me again. It's just a camp, mom. Nothing special,"
"It's more than that. It's... oh, never mind. I don't want you worried during the night."
She put her hand on my cheek. She didn't think I noticed it... but there was a tear coming down her face. I stayed up till 11:00 thinking about all the events that occurred today. I didn't know but, I slowly drifted to sleep.

My dream was that I did tell C.J. to take me to camp. Him, Casey, and me went to the camp. In big letters, on the top of a wooden arch way entering camp, was a sign that said: CAMP HORRORS. I don't know about you, but I would be scared to enter a camp called camp horrors. It's not the kind of name that would attract a lot of campers. C.J. and Casey seemed totally normal about the name. As we went under the arch way the dream shifted. I was watching a man in a special cloak running through the woods, getting chased by something. The thing had evil powers and I could sense it. The man turned toward me. He had greenish gold eyes, full of terror. His hair was brown and short. That moment I knew it was my father, who I'd just found outs name is Arrogus. He looked away from me. He was facing the dark creature. He grabbed from his pocket what looked like a tree branch, pointed it at the darkness, then kept colorful things coming out of the tree branch, hitting the monster. That didn't slow it down a bit. The monster finally attacked the pray. I see my father's face one more time, before a dark shadow crosses his face. He was gone.I woke up to the sound of my screaming. After a few minutes my mom was in the room. "What happened?"
"I had this bad dream...that's all." I hesitated if I should tell her what the dream was about. I didn't.She didn't want me to worry in the night, I don't want her to either. "It's alright, mom. You can go back to sleep." She looked at me with tired eyes, then smiled. "Okay," she whispered. She walked out of the room.

In the morning, I did what I usually do in the morning: 1. Wake up at 7:00 in the morning 2. Get dressed 3.Go to the bathroom 4. Brush my hair 5. Brush my teeth 6. Do my business. Then go downstairs. I poured myself some Captain Crunch cereal. I sat down at the kitchen counter to eat my cereal. There was no way I would go in the dining room to eat alone. I'd feel so small. I almost forgot all about yesterday. Until I saw the note my mom left on the fridge. It said:
Dear Seth,
DON'T FORGET TO REMIND C.J. about camp. If you do then we'll all be in grave danger. Call my work phone when you get to camp. I already called James, the camp director. Don't be surprised if yesterday was the last time you ever see me. Also when you come to Reena (the dragon) you might want to have 3 apples for her. Then.. well, your her best friend. She's actually really nice. It's just that she's been trained to guard the place. And they only feed her big mounds of food once a week, now. I love you, Seth.
-Mom
On the right side of mom's signature a small area of the paper was wet, from a teardrop. I saw the clock. It was a lot earlier than I used to go to school, but I remembered that I had to walk to school now. There was a knock at the door. I opened the door. C.J. was standing at the door way. "What's up, my bro?" He asked. "Uh... The sky?" I didn't know what he meant. A lot of things are up. The sky, the ceiling, me. Then I realized he meant what's happening. "Oh! I mean nothing much." "Sorry I couldn't walk with you. Casey and me had to go shopping for golf balls. Let me tell you, It's not easy finding them at your local store. Unless you get the whole pack of stuff. But, hey, I'm walking with you now." I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. We were quiet for the first few minutes we were walking. So, I decided to bring up the topic right now. "I need you to take me to camp," I said. He stopped walking and looked at me. "Excuse me, what did you say?"
"You have to take me to camp." He came closer to me.
"You're not supposed to know about camp unless you've been in danger. What happened?"
So I told him the story about the "younger generation witch". "Then you met a girl that was pale white. Isn't that what you told me?" "Yes. that's exactly what I told you."
"You met a vampire." "A what?" "A vampire." He exaggerated on the vampire.
"One of the oldest ones in the book, in fact. Yeah... I met her in New York once. Lucky for us, she's usually good." he told me.

awesome!
